He was known for his close ball control , attacking intelligence, impeccable headers and spectacular strikes & volleys. Van Basten was a part of AC Milan and Holland's dangerous front line in the 80s and 90s alongside teammate Ruud Gullit . The Dutch centre-forward had devastating finishing that would break any team apart.
