What do you need to be a fantastic winger?
Wingers offer creativity out wide for teams. A good wide player can hug the sidelines and stretch the pitch out.

They can play on their natural side - a left-footer playing on the left or right-footer playing on the right. 'Inverted' wingers play on the opposite side of the pitch to what foot they usually kick with, allowing them to 'cut inside'.
To be an effective wide player you need to play your skillset very effectively.

Gareth Bale is one of the quickest players in the world when running with the ball.

Accuracy was David Beckham's trademark. He created lots of goals with his wide range of crosses into the box. He did not need lightening running speed because he could deliver the ball in an instant.

Legendary Dutchman Arjen Robben is an example of an inverted winger, as he likes to cut inside and shoot. Defenders know he will do this, but they can't stop him when he does it well.
