From joining Real Madrid's academy aged 10 , Carvajal has grown through the youth system and established himself as a crucial part of their defence. Despite a season spell at Bayer Leverkusen, he returned, following Real activating the buy-back clause. In his first senior season, he managed to collect 45 appearances from right-back . Carvajal's role in the team is to be solid at the back whilst also being able to feed the attacking players, such as Eden Hazard .
